ANIMALS AS LEADERS To Be Featured On Oregon Radio This Sunday
May 1, 2009Progressive instrumentalists ANIMALS AS LEADERS — the new project of 7-and 8-string guitar wizard Tosin Abasi (ex-REFLUX) — will be the featured act on this week's (May 3) edition of "Common Sense", a two-hour program that airs at 1 p.m. each Sunday on KBVR-FM in Corvallis, Ore. The show can streamed live on the station's web site, www.kbvr.com.
During the program, the band's self-titled debut album — which was released this week to extensive acclaim — will be played in its entirety, and Abasi will take part in a live interview.
ANIMALS AS LEADERS was formed soon after REFLUX disbanded, when Tosin Abasi began work on an instrumental solo project as a way to further express his musical personality. The result: a 12-track collection of guitar-driven progressive instrumentals with ambient and electronic influences that provides a scintillating showcase for one of the finest young guitarists in rock today.
